We enjoyed asking the students at Sekolah Cikral questions about their interests and customs.

Among their questions, they asked us about Vegemite, kangaroo tail soup and whether we keep koalas as pets.

Our Autumn Veggies are starting to Grow

We found that lots of rain doesn't necessarily help vegetables to grow. What is more important is plenty of sunshine.

We are now getting more sunshine and so we just need to keep the soil moist through watering. By mulching with sugar cane mulch we can help keep the soil warm and retain moisture.

Naplan 2017

Students are being familiarised with the format and type of activities to be found in Naplan tests so that they will be comfortable with what these tests look like. The aim is to enable them to be familiar and comfortable with this assessment activity.

We have been busy researching LIGHT

We have been looking for experiments to demonstrate the properties of light -

• light travels in straight lines

• light can be reflected

• light can be refracted

Welcome to a new year at MACC. I am looking forward to the opportunity of working with 5S, seeing new goals set, new goals achieved and both individuals and the class becoming better than before.

A new year, new room, new students . . . a new beginning.

Also new this year is the other class in our shared space is 6T being taught by Mrs Todd. An additional Yr5 class with Mr Brownlee completes Stage 3 at MACC in 2017. We look forward to an exciting year ahead. I hope our students enjoy the program, the challenges and the opportunities to develop relationships.
